Implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility Realization of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) implementation in 2008 was as follows:
• CSR expenditure amounted to Rp19,736,884,279
1. Education
Educational scholarships and facilities were given to poor students in D3 financial education through Bhakti Ikatan Alumni “ILUNI”, in cooperation with Institute Social Morale Management Education and Development “ISMMED”, “Sriwijaya Polytechnic” for 50 students, “Lampung Polytechnic” for 50 students, “Padjajaran University”, Bandung for 75 students; in cooperation with “Surya Institute” provided funds for Student transfer cost at the Asian Science Camp in Bali, the construction of a one study room for Labschool-Jakarta, the education of 60 teenagers, who were unable to continue
their study from various areas at D1 MIGAS in cooperation with “STEM”-Cepu, mechanical skills course for teenagers in cooperation with “YDBA”, sheep farming training in cooperation with “Dompet Dhuafa” for 75 farmers in Lampung. It also provided business incubator facility in cooperation with “BIDC-UI”, including education assistance to improve the competency of outsourcing human resources in the Company. The allocated funds for education was Rp5,024,172,655 or 25.46% ofthe total budget.
2. Religion
Donations for fatherless children and the poor in the entire operational areas, the construction of worship facilities, and donations for religion activities. Total for religious donations was Rp5,013,525,500 or 25.40% of the total distribution.
3. BUMN Peduli
Together with other BUMN (State-owned companies), the Company participated in BUMN Peduli by: providing education books and scholarships for diploma (D1) program at MIGAS STEM Cepu for poor students as a continuation of the 1st program implemented by PGN and Pertamina; distribution of selected foods and medicines, construction of education facilities in Jogyakarta after the earthquake. Total distributed funds for BUMN Peduli was Rp7,005,533,400, or 35.49% of the total budget.
4. Public Facilities
Providing donations for public road maintenance in Porong-Sidoarjo area, bridge maintenance in Medan, city park in Muara Enim, South Sumatera, and village facilities including donations to build a studio in Sukabumi for craftsmen of stone. Funds allocated for these activities totaled Rp858,919,400 or 4.35% of the total budget.
5. Health
Dental checkups and medicine for elementary school students, and provision of food for public in the operational areas, and donations for health activities conduced by other organizations. Funds distributed for these activities totaled Rp758,468,140 or 3.84% from total distribution.
6. Environment
Under the framework of “National Planting Day”, the Company donated 1,500 trees to be planted in the entire area, as part of the 400,000 trees that will be donated in 2009. The Company also acted as the coordinator for trees planting in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and for mangrove planting in Jakarta. Partnership programs with peasant groups in Grobogan, Central Java for a plantation for alternative fuel through “Desa Mandiri Energi program”. Funds absorbed in these activities totaled Rp103,015,900 or 0.52% from total distribution.
7. Catastrophe
Assistance for flood victims in Jakarta, Central Java and East Java, and school rehabilitation in Bengkulu. Fund absorbed totaled Rp815,000,000 or 4.13% from total distribution.
8. Culture and Arts
Allocation of Rp 20,000,000 to support Indonesian arts and culture exhibition in Europe (Balingen, Germany) held from April 25 – May 05, 2008.
